I’m doing this thing. NaNoWriMo I mean. I’ve been on the fence about it, mostly because I think I should be focusing on the novel that I’ve already written, editing it and getting it ready, but also because it has the potential to slow down my regular posts.
But as I see it, I’ve already stalled on the editing of Alberija and I could probably use a break from it. Meanwhile, I’ve had this other idea for a story kicking around in my head for long enough that I think it’s ready to be written out as a draft.
When it’s all over, I’ll put that draft away for a bit and go back to Alberija with fresh eyes – but for the next month, it’s going to be on in a way that is very much similar to Donky Kong.
But I don’t anticipate a paltry 50,000 words, oh no! I’m shooting for twice that, something nearer 300 pages. I have an outline and the characters and it’s absolutely doable, but I could surely use some help staying honest over the next month.
So, to that end, if there are any other NaNoWriMo-ers out there, shout out, be heard, and let’s keep each other encouraged! Or at the very least, add me as a writer buddy.
Let’s do this.
I’ll probably be doing NaNo (baby-permitting), you can find me on the site as “jaaelmo” if you want to buddy up! Just keep pressing on every day and it’s perfectly possible, I promise!
Great – I’ll absolutely track you down!
I’m going to do it, too! Yay! It’s my first time, so I’m a bit nervous. Good luck to you. You’re so ambitious! Please do add me. I’m “thebumblefiles.” My profile isn’t complete, but I AM doing it! I could definitely use the encouragement.
Great! I’ll look you up and add you right now!
